Do you have a few hours spare each month?

  • Would you like to be part of an incredible voluntary organisation?
  • Do you want to give something back to the local community?
  • Do you want to be part of a friendly, committed and dynamic team?
  • Are you passionate about helping children and their families to improve their relationships through specialised support?

  • HOPE (Harrow) is recruiting Trustees, and a Chair and a Treasurer, to join our Trustee Board and are looking for people with both the energy and skills to join us on our journey as we set our Strategic Plan for the next three years.
We all know that being a parent is the most important job in the world… and it isn’t always easy!
At HOPE (Harrow) we are committed to helping all parents and carers within Harrow regardless of their family or personal circumstances. We do this by offering high quality, accessible, specialised parenting support that meets the needs of the families we work with.
We are working towards reaching more parents and carers by increasing our funding streams, raising our profile, enhancing existing parenting support services and developing new ones. If you have an interest in parenting support and education, we believe you could be the ideal person to join our Board of Trustees.
    What Skills/Experience Are Needed?
Leadership, financial and charity sector experience preferable.  You must be able to commit to attending four governance meetings per year.  Time commitment will be approximately 8 hours per month.
An additional advantage would be having some knowledge of one or more of the following areas:
  • Media – public relations, marketing, social media, web design
  • Financial management or accounting
  • Fundraising
  • HR and administration of charities
  • Strategic planning

  • What Will You Gain from the Role?
A chance to make a difference, to meet new people, to work with a dedicated team of staff and trustees and to learn new skills.
Our charity values diversity and wishes to create a Board of Trustees which reflects the community with whom we work.  Applications are particularly sought from people from diverse backgrounds. Training and an induction programme will be provided for all new trustees who join the Board.  These are unpaid appointments.
For an informal discussion or to request a full copy of the role description, contact the office on 0208 8637319 or email info@hopeharrow.org.uk
